This is a sample measuring form whch demonstrates the measurements required when you purchase a Lazy Jacks Flaking System.
A "live" measuring form will be sent to you at the time of purchase. The live form is linked to your order and is the best way to provide measurements. Please do not use this form to submit measurements.
Owners sometimes wonder why we need measurements. Aren't they the same for all boats of the same model? Actually, no.
Manufacturers often change gear mid-production run due to shortages, excess inventory on hand or simply a better deal from another supplier. Molds wear out and are changed, with slight differences in dimensions. Or, the dealer or a prior owner made modifications to the boat.
And with a purchase as important as this, we simply can't rely on patterns from other boats. When you complete and submit this form you ensure that your Lazy Jacks Flaking System will fit your boat perfectly.

In most cases the Lazy Jack lines exit the sail cover at an angle. The objective of these measurements is to (1) give us an accurate location for the cutouts in the cover, and (2) provide the proper angle of the Lazy Jack line so the cutouts are large enough.
The illustration above assumes a six-line system. If you have more just add the appropriate measurements in the comments box below.
K
Before measuring, determine where the forward-most Lazy Jack line will intersect the sail cover. Imagine a horizontal line at that point (see measurement K in illustration above).
From the front center of the mast, measure along that imaginary horizontal line, around and aft to the first Lazy Jack. This is not a straight measurement. Take the tape over the girth of the flaked sail, but do not pull it tight!
inches
K1
Going across the top of the sail, measure port to starboard the number of inches between the first set of Lazy Jack lines.
inches
L
Going along the flaked sail, measure from the first Lazy Jack line to the second Lazy Jack line.
inches
L1
Going across the top of the sail, measure port to starboard the number of inches between the second set of Lazy Jack lines.
inches
M
If required: Following along he sail, measure from the second Lazy Jack line to the third Lazy Jack line.
inches
M1
If required: Just like above, measure port to starboard the number of inches between the third set of Lazy Jack lines.
inches
N
Along the bottom of the boom, measure from the front center of the mast around and aft to where the first Lazy Jack line ties off to the bottom of the boom.
inches
O
Along the bottom of the boom, measure from where the first Lazy Jack line ties off to where the second Lazy Jack line ties off.
inches
P
If required: Along the bottom of the boom, measure from where the second Lazy Jack line ties off to where the third Lazy Jack line ties off.
