A marine diesel engine needs sufficient combustion air in order to function correctly. The engine also requires ventilation air of an approximately equal volume to dissipate the radiated heat. The design of the Vetus air suction vents is based on these principles. These vents are designed to open directly into the engine room and do not require collector boxes.
