Rail mount custom bimini
Rail mount biminis for virtually every sailboat
Important note about production times
Due to a nationwide shortage of Sunbrella fabric some items may be delayed beyond the dates shown -- or you may get it much sooner. In some cases, promised palettes of fabric have not arrived while unexpected palettes have, so right now we are unable to predict production lead times. Orders are shipping daily but we can't always tell you when. Your credit card will be authorized upon purchase but no money will change hands until the item ships. Thank you for your patience during this challenging time.
The rail mount style is all the rage in biminis these days and it's easy to see why. There are no braces to conflict with winches, nothing to climb around when entering the cockpit, and installation couldn't be easier: all you need is a wrench!
Be advised that rail mount biminis are slightly more expensive than the traditional coaming mount and in most cases provide somewhat less coverage.
To fit a rail mount bimini, your boat model must have a stern rail that wraps around and comes some distance forward on the boat (see the image above). The farther forward you can mount the bimini on the rail, the more coverage you can get.
Our biminis are made with marine-grade Sunbrella canvas sewen with UV polyester thread and the frames are built with 1" stainless steel tubing (0.065) and non-corroding stainless steel fittings. No aluminum!
Sturdy zippered pockets secure the fabric to the frame, and stainless steel struts hold the bimini in place from the back rail. Bimini's which extend aft of single or double backstays are not a problem as cutouts will accommodate the stays.
For winter (or any other reason) you can quickly remove the entire assembly by removing the mounting screws.
How do I know what size will fit my boat?
When you provide the three measurements below, we'll determine the maximum coverage we can make for your boat. We'll estimate the cost based on those dimensions.
Once you place your order you'll receive a detailed measuring form that you can use to specify how you want your bimini to fit in terms of coverage, height, and placement. To be sure of a good fit we may request a photo of your cockpit.
Bimini's can be made in any Sunbrella color. If you would like a color other than what is listed, please tell us in the comments box of the checkout form.
IMPORTANT! Due to the size of a bimini it is necessary to ship it via freight (not UPS). The shipping quoted is based on shipping to a commercial address. If you enter a residential address, the shipment has to be transferred to a smaller carrier and the freight company charges up to an additional $90 fee which will be added to your order. If your Marina is considered a commercial address, not all of them are, then check with the marina manager to see if they can accept the shipment on your behalf. Some marinas do not want that liability.
