The Lifesling was designed in response to the need for a simple, easy to use, man overboard recovery system, which could be operated by a single person, without requiring sophisticated boating skills. The Lifesling 3 is an upgraded version of the Lifesling, for use on larger recreational and commercial vessels. It can be towed to an overboard crewmember rather than the crewmember swimming to it. It can also be used as a lifting sling if the crewmember needs help getting out of the water. Added features include a longer 150 foot retrieval line for larger boats with higher freeboard, reflecting tape for increased visibility at night and a UV-resistant, fiberglass case that includes simple graphics illustrating the instructions for recovering a person in the water.
