Made of top grain cow hide approximatly 1/8" thick. Vegetable tanned leather was chosen for its resistance to wear. The leathers are supplied as a kit including waxed lacing twine, leather straps with skived ends to form the stops and copper canoe nails to fix them to the oars. Complete instructions are included. The leathers are stitched together to minimize the fastenings driven into the shaft. Sold as a pair.
