Finally, a hatch cover that won't fade, wear out, or blow off, installs in seconds and inhibits hatch crazing.
The Outland rigid hatch cover is a two-piece system consisting of an expanded PVC cover cut to the size of your hatch lens. The cover is fastened to the hatch with a patent-pending twist lock device. A quick 1/4 turn unlocks the cover for removal or installation.
This twist lock is permanently mounted to the hatch lens using a 3M adhesive (included) much like acrylic rain guards are attached to cars and trucks, with no damage to the hatch or lens. Most hatches require only one but larger sizes may need two or more.
The result is a thin, UV-resistant, and secure hatch cover that protects the hatch lens from crazing, keeps your cabin cool, and provides much more privacy than any fabric cover.
The expanded PVC minimizes heat transfer to the lens, too, making it easier for a breeze -- or an air conditioner -- too cool your boat.
See it in action.
Currently, we are only offering the rigid hatch cover for Lewmar hatches built in 1997 or later. Please check your hatch size carefully before ordering.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have replaced any of the lenses on your hatches, please put a note in the comments box during checkout stating which hatches have had the lenses replaced and email an image to help@sailboatowners.com. Hatches with replacement lenses may require modified covers.
How to determine hatch size: Most Lewmar hatches manufactured after 1997 have the size stamped into the lens. This is not a label or sticker, but a hot stamp in the acrylic lens between the handle and the seal next to the inside of the frame.
The rigid hatch cover should always be removed when sailing.
Warranty and Return Policy: Covers can be returned if unused, for up to 30 days after purchase. The covers are guaranteed against defects for 30 days, excluding improper installation, misuse, or loss for any reason.
Shipping: Covers are well packaged for shipment in a 20 x 20 or larger cardboard carton with stiffeners.
